Privacy Policy

• We collect what we need to run your account and the product — your email, what you save, and the ideas you assess.
• The published ideas come from public sources and AI, not from your private data.
• We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use third-party advertising trackers.

• Account: your email address and a bcrypt-hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.
• Content you create: ideas you run through the Assess tool, saved ideas and lists, votes, and comments.
• Usage & technical: privacy-friendly analytics, the session cookie that keeps you logged in, and basic request data (such as IP address) used only for security and abuse prevention.

The idea bank is built from public sources — official RSS feeds and keyless public APIs, including news feeds, engineering and hiring boards, SEC EDGAR filings, the Federal Register, openFDA recalls, ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, Crossref and USAspending.gov. Each idea page lists the specific sources behind that idea. Those sources are clustered and written up by an AI model (Amazon Bedrock) and checked against the live web (Amazon Bedrock web grounding). When you assess your own idea, that text is sent to these providers to produce the result.

• To operate your account and provide the service.
• To generate, score, and refresh ideas.
• To protect the service against abuse and keep it secure.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the product — never to profile you for advertising.

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We also use privacy-friendly analytics that does not rely on cross-site tracking cookies and does not require a consent banner. We do not use advertising or marketing trackers.

We rely on trusted providers to run the service. Your data may be processed by:

• Supabase — database and account data storage.
• Vercel — web hosting.
• Amazon Bedrock — AI synthesis of ideas and assessments.
• Amazon Bedrock — web grounding, the live web search used to validate ideas. Searches stay within AWS.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request removal, we will delete the personal data we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions required for security, legal, or record-keeping obligations.

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local regulator.

Chalk Ideas is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Please don't sign up if you are under 16.

Your data may be processed in the United States or in our providers' cloud regions. By using the service, you consent to these transfers.
